The staff were old school, very professional and seem to love their job . The hotel has character and is very welcoming and well presented. Beautiful flowers in the garden and freshly cut flowers in the hotel everywhere. Housekeeping staff are excellent and our room was immaculate! Thank you! The pool area and gardens are very relaxing to sit around. It is a lovely change to see the family that actually own the hotel also live there and to see how much they care and they should be very proud as it is beautiful.

Large bedroom and very large balconies in first floor front facing rooms. Super king bed was very comfortable. Staff were very efficient and very cheerful. Set menu dinner was fine and at a reasonable price. Breakfast was extensive. Garden had plenty of places to sit, front and back. Tree lined side road led to the lake and ferry was just there if for a slightly reduced service than Stresa itself. But Stresa town was only a 15 mins walk down the lake; a promenade that was well lit at night.

Traditional Italian feel. Reception areas were comfortable and nicely furnished. Lovely art work on the walls. Beautiful view of the lake and Borromean Islands from our 4th floor balcony and also from the 5th floor terrace. Good buffet breakfast. Lovely 20 minute walk into Stresa centre via a beautiful lake side promenade. Boat trips to the Borromean Islands are available from this starting point.

it’s our second time in Stresa and my mom and i decided to come back to Hotel Royal, since a year ago we found it very pleasant. the entire staff confirmed our idea: everybody was helpful, professional, polite, joyful and friendly. it’s brilliant, everything is perfect. the rooms are clean and comfortable and most of them, or all of them, have a balcony or a terrace. i have to mention the spectacular breakfast that you have included staying here: it’s a continental one, you can have salty food, cakes, pies, fruits, yogurts, brioches, local jam, etc. Hotel Royal has a strategic position cause it’s near the dock where you can book a trip to visit the three islands. in case you want to relax at the hotel you can enjoy the pool, always clean and refreshing. in addition, there’s also a bar area where you can have an happy hour (we want to thank Mariella for being so kind and welcoming, she prepared very good cocktails for us). i want to thank again the entire staff for being the best, we will be back for sure!

Everything : breakfast, room, location, dinner, staff specially Michaella and Giovanna, all waiters - specially Michelle, the last but not the least : the owner of the hotel Mr. Vittorio Rosa - a great artist ! We spent an other holiday in this hotel - 20 years ago and it was our dream to come back in such a wonderful place ! We recommend this hotel for a splendid holiday - always !

All the staff were amazing - very friendly, cheerful and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, lovely coffee. Dinner was good, although options were limited. Menu changes daily. Cocktail bar - aperativo time was great fun!

The front desk staff were exceptional. I counted at least 4 languages spoken with ease. The one young blonde front desk lady was very good at answering questions and explaining the advantages of the region. Every staff member encountered were polite with strong customer service skills - from front desk to dining room to housekeeping to maintenance. The Maître d’ was very accommodating to guests yet the dining room was run with precision. The room had an outstanding view of the lake and the mountains. What a pleasure it was to wake up to that every morning. The breakfast was varied from hot to cold fare and every guest I saw left with smiles on their faces. The test of any hotel is if guests would want to return. This guest definitely would!!

The bar and lobby areas and gardens are very well designed. And they are well looked after, and with cut flowers in many places around the lobby. And it is fun and interesting having original art (instead of prints) on the walls.

A typical Italian style hotel, very ornate in the communal areas but bedrooms quite sparse. Bed comfortable and room a good size with a small balcony overlooking the lake.All staff friendly and helpful. Good selection of fruit, cheese and pastries for breakfast.The weather wasn't very good during our stay so we didn't use the pool.

Excellent location away from tourist crowds, close to one of the ferry stops as well as the Alibus stop from Malpensa. Very friendly staff, nice spacious room with balcony and beautiful facilities. Delicious breakfast with lots of options for every taste.
